The role of Chief Development Officer at Regus was intended to be responsible for building a set of businesses alongside the serviced office business using the same basic set of competencies.

I was recruited in mid 2007 and began work late that year just as it become apparent that a serious downturn was more likely than not. Whilst the need to conserve cash in the core business meant that we had to limit our aspirations, I am proud that we did launch both workplace recovery and outsourced property portfolio management products.
